The Radio Road ponds are not part of a preserve or park, but are on the Baylands Trail. The ponds are next to Redwood Shores Shore Dog Park, at the end of Radio Road. The ponds are habitat for large flocks of shorebirds, as well as Heron and Egret rookeries. The ponds in Winter are one of the best places to find Pintails and Blue Winged Teals, and a small Black Skimmer population also make their home in the pond. The back ponds and associated canals attract uncommon duck species such as Readheads. The Ponds are also a good place to find a Brandt's Goose among the Canada Geese flocks. Remember, just think "cute as a button" when you're looking at Goose beaks, and you'll find your Brandt's!
